1) mention of food, sometimes even recipes





2) reference to one of my real-life pals, usually their first name


3) something magical, mystical, or paranormal


4) at least one character who drops the F bomb a few times


5) situations that reveal character


6) bits of internal monologue


7) some sort of mini homage to film or stage



8) an animal, whether a pet or not


9) a dig at some politician or political faction (usually right-wingers)





10) a sexual deviant (what can I say? – pervy people intrigue me)
