This 'N That - and Happy Holidays

I've been so bad this year about not keeping the blog going, not writing, not...doing a lot of things. So for those who pop in and check on me, thanks. I'd say I'll do better next year, but it's a lot like my putting "stop swearing" on my New Year's Resolution List. I fucking try, but...alas. Sometimes it takes, and sometimes it doesn't.

Advice for today. Watch over-indulging in antihistamines during the cold season. I have a friend who doubled her dosage (and she's a nurse and knew better, but nothing had ever happened before...) and woke up looking like this. Took something like 3 days for the swelling to go down. My friend, by the way, is quite pretty, so this was a bit of a shocker to see herself so out of proportion. *shiver*

Feel good movie of the day: Neverwas. For some reason, this one got to me. I like ole Aaron Eckhart ANYWAY.

Feel good book that was recommended to me: The Shack, by William P. Young, although I'm told ya don't feel so good going in as you do coming out.

Strange Recipe of the day that is actually VERY good: Romance Author Carla Cassidy's dad came up with this, I think, and she served it at her Christmas party last weekend. 1 liter of Dr. Pepper, a gallon of your favorite apple cider, and a coffee basket full of red hots...the candies. Put candy in basket, pour liquids into large percolator, and sit back and smell then drink. It's awesome. SWEET, but awesome.

Hmmm, was that 1 litre or two of Dr. Pepper? Just asking. It was good but like you said, very very SWEET.

Reminiscent of Candied Apples.

It was probably one two-liter of Dr. Pepper, and I mis-wrote it. I'd wondered but wasn't sure.

Thanks, G.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, ALL - back to a new blog post in a few hours - promise.

Just a note: New unopened Kindles in the box are going for about $100.00 over Amazon's retail price on E-Bay. On the Amazon site they're currently backordered.

BTW - unrelated - I've got 26 pages total now, Sunny. See you Sat.
